Lebanon County. From Ken Grubb (Miami, Florida), August 25, 1998: =========================================================================== Lebanon County issues to nonresidents. County Courthouse 400 South Eighth Street Lebanon, PA 17042 =========================================================================== From an anonymous reader on October 11, 1998: =========================================================================== The following PA counties issue entirely by mail: Cambria, Lebanon, McKean and Westmoreland. =========================================================================== From an anonymous reader on March 24, 2001: =========================================================================== My most recent PA LTC (License To Carry) was received entirely via mail from the sheriff's office of Lebanon County. On 2/14/01 I sent them a short letter stating that I would be traveling to and through their area several times yearly, in possession of my personal firearms, and that I wished to be apply for a PA LTC so as to be in compliance with their laws. I included a copy of my home state Concealed Weapon License, licenses from other states, and copies of my various firearms training certificates (including my NRA Instructor certifications). On 2/26/01 I received the application, which I mailed back the same day with my check ($19) and a 2"x2" photo of myself (required). On 3/9/01 I received a blank license form to sign and return to them (this obviously meant that I had been approved) which I did the next morning. On 3/16/01 I received my PA license in the mail. Total elapsed time from mailing my first letter to receiving the license, 30 days. By the way, with each mailing from me to them, I included a self-addressed stamped envelope. (That's very important! Since they only get $19 for the license, they don't have a lot of excess cash to pay for envelopes and postage for us out-of-staters. They appreciate the courtesy of the applicant providing a SASE every step of the way.) =========================================================================== From an anonymous reader on July 16, 2001: =========================================================================== Do you know of any PA counties that both issue by mail, and will issue to Canadians? All of the ones that will issue to Canadians, that I know of, want a visit. I had heard good things about Lebanon, but when I attempted to apply I received a letter back stating the following: "This permit will not be issued by the Lebanon County Sheriff's Office. I have limited the permits to residents of the United States who have permits in the states in which they reside." =========================================================================== From an anonymous reader on February 2, 2002: =========================================================================== Lebanon County sheriff issued me a nonresident license within 30 days of application. All done by mail. Thank you for your website information. =========================================================================== From a website posting on July 12, 2002: =========================================================================== Previously Lebanon county PA issued non resident licenses by mail. This is no longer the case. I was informed by email from the head sheriff that they only take non resident applications in person. ===========================================================================
