Mercer County. From Ken Grubb (Miami, Florida), September 28, 1998: ============================================================================ Mercer County sent out an application and instruction sheet. The cost is $19 and the permit is valid for 5 years. The application can be mailed, but one must appear in person to be interviewed by the Sheriff. The applicant will either be approved or denied at the interview. Sounds a bit ominous and potentially discretionary. Sheriff of Mercer County 205 South Erie Street, Room 102 Mercer, PA 16137 (724) 662-3800 ext 2267, 2268, 2295 ============================================================================ From an anonymous reader, March 3, 1999: ============================================================================ ...I was able to get a PA CCW license in Mercer County. The interview is more of a review of PA CCW laws. I think that is a good idea. People need to know the laws before they carry. I am still unable to find a copy of PA CCW laws in writing. I am a resident of Ohio and found the Mercer County Sheriff's department friendly and cooperative. ============================================================================
